The Phnom Penh municipal government plans to develop a leisure and entertainment area in the district of Daun Penh. The new development will encompass shops, restaurants, hotels, and a bar street, all spread across approximately 57 hectares.
The development is planned into three zones:
- Zone 1 (Food Street and Shopping Area): Located in front of the post office, this bustling zone is bordered by Street 94 to the north, Street 106 to the south, Street 13 to the west, and Sisowath Quay to the east.
- Zone 2 (Entertainment Area): Positioned between Street 106 and Street 184, with Street 13 and Sisowath Quay.
- Zone 3 (Recreation Space): By Street 184, Sihanouk Boulevard, Street 07, and Sisowath Quay.
Scheduled to start in early May 2024, the project is aimed to be completed before the New Year 2025. Once completed, Pedestrian Street will be open from 6 PM to 11 PM, enhancing Daun Penh's appeal as a destination for evening entertainment and leisure activities.

Located on the the banks of Tonle Sap River, it was named after the legendary figure Lady Penh (Grandmother Penh), who is said to have founded the city during the 13th-14th century, the area occupies an important place in Cambodia's history.
