Tbong Khmum is taking steps to enhance tourism by turning an artificial river into a SMART Area. The provincial authorities have been working hard to make the province more attractive to tourists, especially young people, after the past two years due to the COVID-19 crisis.
The artificial river can hold up to three million cubic metres of water, making it an ideal place for people to enjoy water-related activities. The provincial authorities have been preparing this artificial river to become a SMART Area, which means that it will have modern technology integrated into it to make it more attractive and convenient for tourists.
In addition to the artificial river, the province has also set up a garden around it, which will further enhance its appeal. The SMART Area is expected to attract young tourists to the province and will be an excellent addition to the existing tourist attractions in the area.
Located in the eastern part of Cambodia, Tbong Khmum is a province that shares its border with Vietnam to the east. Despite being a new province, established only in 2013 after being separated from the larger province of Kampong Cham, Tbong Khmum has been working diligently to promote tourism and attract more visitors to its scenic landscapes, ancient temples, and cultural heritage sites.
